When using Spoks for SMS messaging, you can obtain a dedicated phone number to streamline your business communications. This feature is available to users with a paid account.

Here you activate SMS and fund your SMS wallet. As part of this process, you will also be asked to submit your business details. To activate SMS, you must have a paid account, which also allows you to obtain a dedicated phone number for your business.

This registration is a required industry process for all businesses that send SMS. It verifies who you are, what type of business you run, and that you have permission to message your subscribers. This helps prevent spam and ensures good delivery rates across mobile networks. Specifically, this registration is necessary for obtaining a dedicated phone number with cellular providers.

After submission, your details are reviewed by telecom partners. This approval process usually takes a few days. Once approved, SMS sending is automatically enabled in your Spoks account. The approval process typically takes 3–5 days. During this time, you can start building your SMS list and managing SMS settings within the app.

Sending SMS

After approval, you can send SMS as a campaign

or as a step in a flow.

To send an SMS campaign, click New campaign and choose SMS.

Select your recipients (make sure they have opted in for SMS), give the SMS a title for your own reference, and write your message. You can personalize the message and insert links, and opt-out instructions are included automatically.

An SMS is sent as a plain text message. All links you insert are uniquely tracked per recipient using Spoks' built-in link tracker, branded with your custom domain. This provides precise click and engagement tracking for every SMS you send.

In flows, SMS is sent using the Send SMS step, composed directly in the flow builder.

How much does SMS cost?
