The good news: it takes less than a minute. Just find your browser below and follow the steps. After changing the setting, restart your browser for it to take effect.
Google Chrome
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner and choose Settings.
In the left sidebar, click System.
Turn on "Use graphics acceleration when available."
Click Relaunch to restart Chrome.
Shortcut: paste chrome://settings/system into your address bar to jump straight there.
Microsoft Edge
Click the three-dot menu (…) in the top-right corner and choose Settings.
In the left sidebar, click System and performance.
Turn on "Use graphics acceleration when available."
Click Restart to relaunch Edge.
Shortcut: paste edge://settings/system into your address bar.
Mozilla Firefox
Click the menu button (☰) in the top-right corner and choose Settings.
Stay on the General panel and scroll down to Performance.
Uncheck "Use recommended performance settings."
Check "Use hardware acceleration when available."
Restart Firefox to apply the change.
Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and other Chromium browsers
These browsers share the same engine as Chrome, so the steps are nearly identical:
Open Settings from the main menu.
Look under System (or Performance, depending on the browser).
Turn on the graphics / hardware acceleration option.
Restart the browser.
Safari (Mac)
Safari enables hardware acceleration automatically and doesn't offer a setting to turn it off. If you're using Safari, no action is needed - you're already covered.
Did it work?
Once you've restarted your browser, refresh Spoks. The warning message should be gone and everything should feel smoother.
If you're still seeing the message after enabling the setting and restarting, try these quick checks:
Update your browser to the latest version, then restart it.
Update your graphics drivers (mainly relevant on Windows and Linux).
Restart your computer - occasionally this is needed for the change to fully apply.
